It was announced this week that Germany is meeting 72% of its energy needs with renewables.  Wow – that is really good, especially as they can’t use any tidal energy systems to help them.   There is no excuse now for anyone not to invest in renewable energy technology – it is all out there and getting better by the minute.

The second bit of news comes from one of my favourite places – the UK city of Milton Keynes – where the Open University are using smart technology to do all sorts of things in the city.  ‘ The project draws on the knowledge of a range of OU experts in intelligent systems, advanced data management, cleaner transport technologies, and the design of computing systems for addressing sustainability challenges.’
