Anemone fish live in a symbiotic relationship with their anemone coral. This means that they live together harmoniously – both the fish and the coral gaining some advantage from the relationship. The anemone coral is like a carpet which folds up or unravels in the currents and has stinging tentacles to keep away predators. The anemonefish are immune to the stinging tentacles so can live happily in the protection of the coral – and often come out to chase away any creature that could try to eat the coral.
