Just noticed I’m coming up to my 50th cruise speaking contract in 10 years of doing this work. I couldn’t resist playing with the numbers. That’s approximately: Average cruise audience numbers totalling 25,000 adults, plus Conferences of about another 3,000 and numerous Rotary clubs and other gigs – so another ??? 600 people totalling 28,600 people have heard what I’ve had to say about Oceans – learning, loving it and hopefully in the future helping to protect it. Oh – and 3,000 primary school children in the last two years too.
I enjoy every moment !
Hi folks, Got a message this week from Wendy at this link –
If you’re researching a school project – this article is written in very easy to understand language. Also useful to adults of course.
I hope you find it useful.
Sorry folks – yes I’m guilty of not blogging for some weeks now. Since returning home in May I have spent 5 solid weeks with every spare second pushing my nose to the screen and burning my fingerprints off on a keyboard – but I’ve got there. The children’s fiction for age 8-12 is completed and ready for the editors’ red pen. I really had to be single minded to get it completed – but success with that has meant that I have not even said thank you to my wonderful Queen Elizabeth audience and for that I humbly apologise. I thoroughly enjoyed being with you from Cape Town to Tenerife in April-May – and you were the most excellent audience and it was great chatting with you around the ship. I hope you are all home safe and sound now and enjoying either the summer in the UK or back home wherever that may be.
The plans for the teachers resource are going forward – my part is complete and the next stage of putting some ‘out for trial’ in some primary schools will happen soon. We are hoping to get them out ready to go to schools by September.
It would be good to be able to market the Teacher’s Resource ‘Ocean World’ and the new children’s fiction book at the same time ……- so watch this space.
Take care all,
